Robust Analytics is excited to announce our partnership with NASA to participate in the Digital Information Platform (DIP). The DIP project is designed to accelerate the transformation of the National Airspace System (NAS) and airspace operations by developing a foundation for advanced, data-driven, digital services for both traditional and emergent operations towards cohesive decision making.
DIP aims to design, develop and demonstrate a digital information ecosystem to improve airspace operations decision making. The primary focus of DIP is to establish an easily accessible cloud-based Digital Information Platform utilized by data and service providers and operators to gather and access both real-time and historical data upon which new data-driven services are developed.
Robust Analytics is offering services on the DIP from our Operational Disruption Forecast System (ODFS). This service provides hourly predictions of airport arrival rates, runway configuration, and the probability that airport operations will be disrupted by poor weather or other factors. The forecast time period is 15 hours. In v1.0.0, the service provides the expected airport capacity forecasts generated by the underlying probabilistic model along with the most likely runway configuration for the meteorological condition, wind speeds, and wind direction forecast for the future time periods. The capacity minimums at five confidence levels (10, 25, 50, 75, and 90 percent) are provided to indicate the different probabilistic operational capacity scenarios predicted by the model. Currently, the capacity forecasts up to one week old are made available through this service. The service is currently available for Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport (ATL). Other airports will be added later in 2024.
